Adelaide, South Australia.

8 hours from Melbourne.

Typical province town. Nothing much to see or do.

But when you take the time to walk a bit and look around, there’s always ways to find something interesting to look at.

The reading room of the State Library is a rare gem, and a total surprise and the Art Gallery of South Australia, rich and diverse (and free!). Close by, there’s also the Botanical Garden, pleasant for a picnic in the gazebo, a morning stroll between the ponds and flowerbeds oran afternoon reading under a tree. But as enjoyable as it may be, after a week it was more than time to leave and explore another part.

THERE AND BACK AGAIN

Sans emploi, en attente de quelque chose sans trop savoir quoi, j’ai finalement décidé de suivre un ami à Adelaide. Totalement sur un coup de tête.

Bien des kilomètres d’autoroutes et de routes de terre, de ville et de désert, de rencontres et d’émotions fortes plus tard, c’est le retour à Melbourne, une fois de plus.

LATE NIGHT LIGHTS

Japan’s streetscape is buoyant to say the least. It’s rich and diverse and there’s so much to see it almost become noisy. But that’s one of the things that makes it such a unique country and such an amazing place to visit.

While its true throughout the day, it’s even more striking at night.

SAKURA BLOSSOMS

Seiryo-ji temple – Arashiyama, Kyoto – 17.03.16

Each year, the cherry blossom season attracts thousands of tourists all over Japan. Its also very popular among locals and holds a very important position in japanese culture. Hanami – cherry blossom viewing – parties are celebrated under the trees. It happens from early to late april, depending on the region.

Of course, traveling in march, we missed the full bloom season, but we were lucky enough to catch a few early trees.

ORIENT EXPRESS

One month already since I’ve left Japan and came back to Melbourne. Time is flying by so fast. I lose track of the days. But Japan feels like yesterday. I saw so much and went to so many places, yet I feel I still there’s so much I haven’t done, so many places I haven’t been to. I hadn’t left the country that I was already dreaming of coming back!

At the end of February, I took the plane from Melbourne, to land 9 hours later in Tokyo. Thanks to a good preparation, I (quite) easily went to take the train to get to Asakusabashi and arrive at my hostel tired but happy. I had the whole day to myself, to start tasting, exploring, and buying the last things i would need for the trip. And at the end of the day, Tak arrived, as tired as I was (even a bit more!) but ready to join me in what would be an amazing 3 weeks of discovery!

OF MONSTERS AND CHAIRS AT RMIT

100 Chairs in 100 Days – 08.04.16

Two weeks ago, I decided to take advantage of Melbourne’s famous and buoyant art scene. I headed to RMIT Design Hub to see the exhibition 100 Chairs in 100 Days by artist Martino Gamper.

Who know me know that I love designers chairs so I couldn’t miss that opportunity!

End of the day – Shrine of Remembrance – 05.04.16

Après avoir tourné du pot et l’avoir nié pendant plus longtemps que je ne l’aurais voulu, je me suis finalement avoué que j’avais le mal du pays et que le Québec me manquait.

Une fois accepté, les choses se sont calmées.

Même si j’ai l’impression qu’il y a plus qui m’appelle à rentrer que ce qui m’incite à rester, je me suis rendue à l’évidence, je ne suis pas prête à partir. Pas encore.

SO FAR…

Voici un aperçu de mon itinéraire so far

Le 5 août dernier j’ai pris l’avion de Montréal, en passant par Los Angeles, USA et Auckland, NZ pour finalement arriver à Melbourne le 7 août. Un trajet de 28 heures qui se traduit par 2 jours sur le calendrier.

AOÛT _ Après avoir pris le pouls de la ville quelques jours, en essayant de survivre aux contre-coups du jet-lag, Lila et moi prenons la route pour un road-trip d’un mois, de

Journal – Hobart Airport 20.02.16

Ça y est, c’est la fin d’une aventure. Retour à l’aéroport, à nouveau en solitaire, mais je ne me sens pas seule. Je suis entourée de voyageurs, de découvreurs, de nomades autant que d’aventuriers du dimanche. Et mon coeur est rempli des rencontres que j’ai faites et des nouvelles amitiés que j’ai tissé.

Après deux mois passé à partager mon quotidien avec Français, Australiens, Italiens et une merveilleuse québécoise (merci Marie!), les joies et les peines de la vie de picker, j’ai eu envie de continuer à m’ouvrir, continuer à partager ce que je fais, ce que je vis, ce que je vois.
